In an effort to bring in more cash to the Agency, TCU made the case to MTA Chairman Foye that it would be poor optics to be receiving billions in federal funding relief, while at the same time refusing cash payments. Chairman Foye agreed to start taking cash at both stations and onboard. Starting Wednesday July 15th, both the Long Island and Metro North Railroads will be accepting cash.
On both railroads, TCU helped to reimagine its workforce to keep workers, riders, trains, and stations safe and sanitized, while assisting customers with up-to-date train information, social distancing encouragement, train load information and masks when necessary.
