Only for members covered under the Railroad Employees National Health and Welfare Plan:
As of June 10, 2020, there are still over 8,214 railroad members who have NOT verified or provided valid documents to Railroad Enrollment Services. With these outstanding members, there are 8,214 spouses and approximately 1,600 step-children that will lose coverage at the end of the audit period. TCU/IAM continues to have 409 members who have not complied.
Members who fail to respond or provide valid documentation, their spouse and any associated stepchildren will lose coverage under the medical, dental and vision plans.
Once valid documentation has been submitted and accepted, members will receive a confirmation letter in the mail from Railroad Enrollment Services. If members who have submitted documentation but have not gotten a written confirmation in the mail, they should immediately contact Railroad Enrollment Services at 1-800-753-2692.
With a little more than 2 weeks left for members to respond by the deadline of June 30, 2020. Many members may feel they have responded, but unless they received a confirmation letter in the mail, the documentation submitted was not sufficient. Others have not responded at all.

It is imperative that you ensure your members are aware of this audit to avoid any undue terminations of coverage for their spouse and any step-children. Let everyone know! Without a substantial and sudden improvement in employee responses, hundreds of spouses and stepchildren will lose their insurance, at least until the required proof is submitted.
