We are saddened by the passing of TCU Lodge 2506 Member Sophia Ortiz’s daughter. Eliyanah passed away recently after a tragic accident. Her family was traveling southbound on the 880 to Milpitas for a family birthday dinner and were the victims of gun violence. A bullet struck their 5-year-old daughter and she passed away.

TCU President Artie Maratea addressed the over 800 delegates at the IAM Transportation Conference today. He touched on the fulfillment of the TCU/IAM merger, the contracts that TCU has completed recently, the results TCU has received for our members while protecting the agreements and the education of TCU representatives. TCU (clerical), Brotherhood of Railway Carmen and ARASA representatives recently reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) with Amtrak. Our union was a proud partner of the TCU & Shop Crafts coalition during this round of bargaining. Today the Services Trades Council Union (STCU) reached a historic tentative agreement with Walt Disney World. Under the terms of the agreement minimum hourly rates will increase to $16 effective 10/1/2022 with full back pay for all eligible Cast Members.
