The pending Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis, center, meets with from left, TCU Assistant Legislative Director Tony Padilla and TCU International Representative Ron Kloos.
Assistant National Legislative Director Tony Padilla and International Legislative Representative Ron Kloos hit the ground running January 5, 2009 when members of the 111th Congress convened in Washington, DC. Padilla and Kloos spent the first week Congress was in session meeting with veterans and newcomers as well as the pending Secretaries of Labor, Interior and Transportation—Representative Hilda Solis (D-CA), Senator Ken Salazar (D-CO) and Representative Ray LaHood (R-IL) respectively.
The atmosphere in Washington is different and exciting with President Obama taking office. Members of Congress are serious about promoting a pro-working family agenda that the new administration said it will support. “The members were eager to meet with us and hear about the issues that are important to our members,” said Kloos.
