Soo Line Members Strongly Ratify Contract August 15, 2007

August 15, 2007—Clerical Canadian Pacific Railroad (SOO Line) members, represented by TCU Unit 46, overwhelmingly ratified an agreement on August 15 with 91 percent of those voting.  The contract contains the same pay increases as the national agreement (which was ratified not long after), but more importantly, it brings these members into the TCU National Health and Welfare Plan.  TCU and CP Rail had been negotiating locally on health and welfare issues since the 1980s.  The TCU Negotiating Committee consisted of International Vice President Dick Arndt, International Representative Larry Swanson and Assistant International Representative Tom Truhler.  Local Chairpersons respresenting SOO Line members are Tim Gella – 838 Minneapolis, MN; Chris McLees – 787 Chicago, IL; Wayne Peterson – 1085 Fargo, ND and Mick Ward – 319 Duluth, MN.
