TCU mourns the passing of Joe Derillo, former International Representative of the ARASA Division

Joe Derillo Sr. began his railroad career as a Signalman and joined TCU Lodge 5092 in 1980 when he became a supervisor. Joe was elected as Lodge President in 1992 and elected as Local Chairman that same year.

In 2002, Brother Derillo was elected President of the ARASA Division and in 2006, he became International Representative of the ARASA Division and held that position until he retired in 2014.

“Joe was a staunch advocate for labor and the ARASA division. The path he forged remains an integral part of the strength for the ARASA division.  He will be missed. TCU wishes all the best to his family,” said TCU President Artie Maratea.

“I have always admired his determination and tenacity to resolve conflicts and contracts for all ARASA Supervisors. Joe will truly be missed,” said retired ARASA National Representative Mike Miller.

“Joe set the standard of how to deal with the carriers, as a new representative Joe’s example of how to handle tough issues is a guiding strength I continue to leaned on,” said ARASA National Representative Jeff Knudsen.
