This week, TCU/BRC conducted a program specifically for Brotherhood Railway Carmen (BRC) Local Chairmen from Unit 50. The training covered a variety of topics that included: Grievance Handling, Current contract updates (including the recent sick leave agreements), Current legislative updates impacting Unit 50 members, Lodge Officer responsibilities, roster reviews and Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA) among others.
The training, part of President Maratea’s initiative to expand internal education for Local Lodge Officers, was conducted by TCU’s Constitution & Laws Department and various BRC officers.
“TCU has always prioritized training and education and I will continue to make sure our Lodge Officers are the are the best trained reps in the Labor Movement,” said President Maratea. “I am very proud of the officers that worked hard to make this training possible and for all those that participated.
