On October 5, the Coordinated Bargaining Group (CBG) announced they had reached a Tentative National Agreement (TA) with the nations’ freight railroads. On October 7, that information was posted on this website and circulated via Flash News.
The TA is now being circulated to the members of the six CBG unions approximately 85,000 rail workers.
On November 10, the CBG issued a Press Release (click here) providing additional information and condemning interference by the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees (BMWE).
National President Scardelletti believes that every union and its members have the right to negotiate, reach an agreement and ratify it without interference from another union or its members. Accordingly the TCU joins with the CBG condemning BMWE misguided interference.
TCU and its’ coalition partners (IAM , TWU, IBEW) met with the industry on November 8, with members of the National Mediation Board in yet another effort to reach an agreement. The session was productive and while no agreement was reached hopefully we are getting closer to an agreement. Subsequent meetings are in the process of being scheduled.
