October 16, 2007—Members of Lodge 938 employed at the Union Pacific Intermodal Container Transfer Facility in Long Beach, California, have ratified new terms of their contract by substantially more than a two to one margin.
In addition to wage increases along the lines of the 2007 national freight rail agreements, updated terms give members an additional holiday, one more week’s vacation, and an improved attendance policy. Also improved were health and welfare terms.
Negotiating the agreement were IVP Richard Arndt, Unit 155 International Representative Sam Siriano, Assistant International Reps Jim Raymond and Earl Lancaster and Chief Shop Steward (Committeeman) Alfredo Alvarez.
